Summary

Relaunching a brand from the inside out

Lee Budworth spent around 12 years representing outdoor footwear brand BOGS through his own agency business, building deep relationships with retailers and a detailed understanding of the market. When BOGS’ parent company, NASDAQ-listed Weyco Group Inc, stepped back from the UK and European territory, Lee saw an opportunity to relaunch distribution himself.

Founded in November 2024, Dynamic Distribution Group Ltd (DDG) now holds the authorised UK and EU distribution rights for BOGS Footwear. In under a year, the business has built UK and EU ecommerce platforms, established wholesale relationships with retailers including Avenue 85, Welly Warehouse and Hirst Footwear, and put in place third-party warehousing and fulfilment partners in the UK and Netherlands to keep overheads lean while it scales.

A strong order book, and a stock challenge

By mid-2025, DDG had a confirmed AW26 wholesale order book of around £80,000, alongside growing direct-to-consumer demand. Converting that pipeline into revenue meant buying stock and covering working capital well ahead of the Autumn/Winter selling season, DDG’s busiest and most important trading period.

Funding the gap between order book and stock room

River Capital provided a £25,000 loan through NPIF II – River Capital & GC Business Finance Smaller Loans, part of the £660 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II. The funding is supporting seasonal working capital and stock purchasing, giving DDG the headroom to fulfil its growing forward order book across the UK and Europe.

The investment will also support one new full-time role at the business, alongside safeguarding existing employment, as DDG expands wholesale distribution across the UK and Europe, grows its direct-to-consumer ecommerce channel, and onboards additional marketplace partners.

“Rebuilding UK and European distribution for a brand I know inside out has been a great opportunity, and this funding from River Capital comes at exactly the right point as we gear up for Autumn/Winter. It gives us the flexibility to meet demand from our retail partners and keep building momentum across both markets.”
