The business
Founded in 2011, Marshall Property has grown into an established independent estate agency with two branches — on Smithdown Road in Allerton and Rodney Street in Liverpool city centre — offering residential sales and lettings, commercial property services, block management, and maintenance. Over more than 15 years in the Liverpool property market, the business has built its reputation on service-led values and a local-first approach.
The business is led by director Sean Marshall and supported by co-director and founder Paul Marshall. It currently employs 14 people.
The funding
River Capital’s investment, made through the North West Business Growth Loan Fund (NWBGL), has enabled Marshall Property to replicate its successful model in one of Liverpool’s most active residential property markets. The new Crosby branch — the business’s third location — draws on the same systems, branding, and operational infrastructure already proven across its two existing sites, serving a catchment taking in Blundellsands, Waterloo, Brighton-le-Sands, Maghull, Southport, and Ormskirk.
The loan has covered fit-out costs for the new Crosby premises, pre-opening marketing, and working capital during the ramp-up period. The expansion is expected to create six further jobs, on top of the business’s existing 14-strong team.
The investment is the latest from the North West Business Growth Loan Fund, which provides flexible debt finance to SMEs across the North West. River Capital manages the fund as part of its broader portfolio of growth finance solutions for North West businesses.
