River Capital has announced a £500,000 investment in ATS Solutions (NW) Limited, a Manchester based provider of air conditioning, heating, ventilation and maintenance services.
The funding from the £18m North West Business Growth Loan Fund supports a management buyout led by Operations Director Stephen Shanahan.
He brings over 25 years of industry experience to his role as majority owner and Managing Director and under his leadership since 2020 has created a team of specialists serving commercial clients across the Greater Manchester region.
Since the businesses inception, the company has built a strong reputation serving commercial and industrial clients, with notable projects including specialised ventilation systems for healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, and retail establishments.
The investment reflects River Capital’s confidence in both the new management team and the significant growth opportunities within the UK’s £4+ billion HVAC market.

River Capital operates the North West Business Growth Loan Fund, providing growth capital between £100,000 to £500,000 to SMEs across the North West region.
The fund focuses on supporting businesses with strong management teams and clear growth strategies, particularly those creating jobs and contributing to regional economic development.
