Private Equity investors take a stake in your business in return for a cash investment. Such investment is often used as part of a larger funding package alongside other forms of finance, including bank loans. It does though tend to be a more patient form of funding in the servicing it requires, generating returns from the growth in the value of the business and hence aligning with the success of other shareholders.
We look to support high quality management teams in established businesses which are usually (but not always) profitable. We typically invest between £500k – £2m in return for a shareholding in the business. This shareholding is then sold further down the line, typically in 4-7 years time.
As well as funding, we look to be a long term partner for you and your business and are keen to add value and the benefit of our expertise. Our Private Equity backed businesses benefit from an additional layer of support, particularly in the area of strategic issues. We look to leverage our experiences in supporting numerous other businesses to increase your chances of success, and complement this with a strong support network which can include for instance potential Non Executive Directors who can add further value to your business.
Private Equity investors buy a part of your business. They become co-owners alongside management
Private Equity is a long term financial solution, with most firms planning for an exit within 4 to 7 years
To provide the investor with an exit, you will generally need to either sell your company (to another company or another investor) or to list it on the stock market
The funding is complementary to other forms of finance, and likely more patient in the servicing it requires
